A to Z Challenge: R is for Really?

I have only just recently become aware of the myriad ways people find my blog. And it seems to be quite interesting, at least where search engines are involved. To all those who have used these terms to look me up, I have something to say: really?

To s two hours until the start, I'm afraid I'll need more information to help you out there.

I really don't even know where to begin, trying to be some pie in. Maybe you're hungry or this is a brand new slang I'm not familiar with. Whatever the case, I'm sure a diner will suit your needs better.

Larp axe searcher: no, I don't have one. Sorry.

Dear the art of procrastination, I'm afraid I have no tips and tricks for you. Any procrastination posts are here to help you stop, not encourage...wait a minute. Are you doing it right now?

One post about dragons in which I give you the Greek name and now everyone comes here by way of drakon? I'm honored but confused.

Whoever found me by googling jessica marcarelli, you're my new best friend. No, really. You've made me aware of my celebrity status.

To those worrying about a writers struggle, don't. It's only a struggle if you fight it.

Lastly, should I be offended or amused, searcher of epic self portraits fail, that you clicked on my blog?

  1. It can be amusing to see which search terms lead people to your blog. I should try that out someday, although at the same time, I don't want this info to influence the content of my future posts.....anyhow, I'm glad we found each other through Blogging A to Z!

    1. Me, too, Cynthia!

It's there to be helpful but, I agree in that it shouldn't cause you to completely change direction in what you want to do with your own blog.

  2. Funny. I have googled myself before and my blog pops up at the top of the list. I walk around the house informing people of my celebrity status. Ha. They are NOT impressed! Thanks for the fun time over here today. I giggled my heart out. :-)

  3. I know what you mean. I checked my source hits. For some unknown reason, I'm getting more hits from Russia than anywhere else. I don't know anyone there, and I have family in Canada, Friends in the US and live down under. go figure.

    1. I've seen the same thing on my blog. Lots of Germans and Russians checking my writing posts. Kind of fun to think you're "international."

  4. How do you find out the info on the search teams that lead people to your blog?

    1. A couple different ways, but the easiest is right through Blogger itself. Go to your "Design" tab. On the left side of the page, you'll find "Stats." Click it. It should load more options underneath it. You want "Traffic sources." At the bottom of the page, you'll see the column for Search Keywords, which has the words people used that brought your blog up.

  5. "Really" is a unique topic for the R-post. I don't think many bloggers would have used this word.
Really, really interesting to read how people stumble upon your blog - I must check mine out some time...

  6. Pardon me if I've commented twice, but my first one just flew away somewhere. A funny post, and I agree that "Really" is a most creative R. Thanks.

    1. I don't think so. All it is, is a recording of the keywords people used in search engines that caused your blog to appear in the results. There's a number of things that cause it.

For example, "larp axe" came from a post I did awhile back in which I mentioned "larp guys" once. Search engines thought it was relevant, I guess.

    1. Haha, yeah. I'm pretty sure it came from one mention of "larp guys" a few weeks back but it's hilarious that it directed someone here.

I love visitors and I love comments! Please, leave one or many (visitors or comments, it's all good). Just remember to play nice with others. Also, don't spam. I'll have to dump you in the trash compactor if you do. And then the dianoga will eat you. Ask yourself: is it worth getting eaten?
